Lt Col John P. O'Dwyer, MD, FRCP, RAMC, is a neurologist with a wealth of knowledge and experience in neurology and its many subspecialty areas. He is well known and highly regarded for his holistic patient-centred care. Formerly, Lt Col O'Dwyer was head of neurology at Imperial College London (NHS), where he developed services in acute neurology, inpatient care, day unit and outpatient care, and delivery of emerging therapies. He's very proactive in using new treatments and investigations to achieve the best clinical neurology care.

Lt Col O'Dwyer works closely with a great team of neuroscience specialists, including neuroradiologists, neurophysiologists and neurosurgeons. Other aspects of his practice that patients value include patient education, explanation of diagnoses, and referral to the right support for wider patient needs such as speech therapy, clinical neuropsychology and neurophysiotherapy.

Research

Lt Col O'Dwyer has been primary investigator for clinical trials in epilepsy and migraine. He also has been subinvestigator and examining neurologist in multiple sclerosis medicine trials. His doctor of medicine research focused on dystonia and other movement changes. Lt Col O'Dwyer collaborates with academic centres around the UK focusing on dementia, migraine and epilepsy.
