Anna Marciniak, PhD, MRCP, FESC, is a consultant cardiologist with a specialist interest in valvular heart disease, infective endocarditis and cardiac imaging. She has expertise in advanced echocardiography, including stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography, as well as cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.

Education

Dr Marciniak completed her cardiology specialist training at Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals, Royal Brompton Hospital, and St George's Hospital in London. She was awarded a PhD in echocardiography by the University of London for her research on valvular heart disease. She also earned a master's degree in medical imaging from the University of Leuven in Belgium.

Dr Marciniak currently serves as the lead for echocardiography training in the South London Deanery and is an examiner for transoesophageal echocardiography accreditation with the British Society of Echocardiography.

Research

Dr Marciniak researches the role of artificial intelligence in stress echo and cardiac amyloidosis. She also explores the development of subclinical changes in the myocardium in valvular heart disease using a variety of advanced imaging techniques.
