Expertise

Dr Sundeep Kalra is a dedicated and well-respected Consultant Cardiologist specialising in interventional cardiology. He is also the Cardiac Catheter Lab Lead at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of all heart problems. His main area of clinic expertise is in the diagnosis and management of patients with coronary artery disease who present with chest pain and heart attacks.

His focus of procedural skill is percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty), including complex and advanced techniques. He undertakes all procedures with contemporary physiological assessment and intravascular imaging.

Another area of clinical interest is the delivery of networked cardiac care, for which he contributes to several NHS advisory groups.

Education

Dr Kalra graduated from the University of Cambridge and Imperial College School of Medicine in London. He then went on to train in cardiology and interventional cardiology at King's College Hospital in London, where he also was awarded a PhD in vascular calcification.
